This is a cool type of gadget so far. I’ve just been playing with it until I get another client that I can actually use it with. I wish it came with more instructions on how to really use it. I guess it will be a trial and error type of thing. I’m hoping to find a way to utilize this in a conversational mode so that I can understand the other person as well. I was super excited to get this item, as I watch a lot of Asian movies, have Korean neighbors and lots of friends that speak languages other than English. Really easy to set up and use! The only thing is that if you want the best, most accurate translations, is to speak at a moderate pace and speak clearly! Enunciate your words and the device will then be able to give a good translation. Tho, it also works pretty well in conversational settings, as well as being able to translate from the voices in movies. (if there isn't a lot of background noise or music) Overall, I'm really happy with this translator, and the price is really reasonable! Highly recommend for anyone that wants to communicate better with people that don't speak the same language!

Starting off, one tiny gripe is the box for the device, it was a real challenge to remove the lid just to get the device out. That aside, it’s a simple to use and very useful touch-screen translation device. It’s very lightweight, lighter than a mobile phone and a bit smaller and came with a USB-C charging cable, and the printed instruction pamphlet is ok (better than some others I’ve seen). You can swipe left to view the different options available (Voice Translation, Conference, Photo Translation, Recording, Exchange Rate Conversion, Text Translation, Offline Translation, AI Assistant--this launches ChatGPT, WLAN and Settings). Some highlights on some of the features I’ve used thus far… Of quick note, ‘Chinese to English-United States’ appeared to be the default language settings for translation. -Voice Translation: Language selections scroll atop the screen, tap each to choose a language. The ‘arrow’ icon between the language selections allows you to reverse the translation (i.e. if English to French was your selection, tapping the ‘arrow’ will reverse translation to be French to English). Press and hold either translation button A or B located on the right side of the device to record the voice you want translated, release the button when finished recording and the translation is instantly available to play. If you long-press the translation, the option will appear on screen to add it to your ‘Favorites’. If playback is too loud, you can swipe down at the top of the screen (just like a mobile phone) and adjust the volume setting, as well as the screen brightness, WiFi networks and Bluetooth. -Photo Translation: Camera is located at the top-center on the back of the device, allows you to take a pic of text you want translated and crop accordingly to home in on the specific text desired. Worked quite well translating the various images I took pics of (lines of text on-screen, in books, etc). Also displays the text in each language on the screen. -Recording: Allows you to record anything and translate into text (only) of the chosen language, no audible translation here. Recordings can be saved/stored (you’re prompted) and deleted by long-pressing the recording from the saved list. Overall, I do really like this device as there are far more pluses than negatives in my view. It’s compact, lightweight, mobile-phone-like design simplifies its use, and it’s easy to understand. I’ll have this in my handbag (or my hand, lol) on international travels, or whenever language translation is needed.

Wow WOW WOW! There is so much to say about this Amazing Tool but I will start with the advantages of this specific translator, and then to a con. To work this AI Voice Translator, it is simply very intuitive. For just about everything, I didn’t need the instruction manual. I simply played with the machine a bit here and there and it worked easily translating things for me. I will say that in working with English language learners for 27 years, I learned that no matter what kind of automated translator you have (I used the translators online where you have to type in the words that you want translated which quadrupled (or more) the time necessary to translate), it is always best to keep sentences short when they must be translated. If you use long sentences, the grammar, tenses, and words with multiple meanings can get very confusing so much so that you wouldn’t even believe it!!! And in all honesty, that is why we will always have human translators for very important decisions/conversations where a lot is on the line. There will always be social differences as to context and such that are in need of that human element. But since we cannot always have a human being with us, this translator is the next best thing because it fits in your pocket! For group conversations and a couple other little things, I did access the instruction booklet. The instruction manual is very short (see photo) and easy to understand. It arrives carefully packed in a solid foam box for perfect protection. The only con about this product is that it doesn’t have a case with it for protection of the front cover that has the appearance of a cellular phone (see photo with ruler). I have a felt sack/bag that I will place it in that I will put in my purse for perfect protection from scratches, etc…. but you may not have something like that on hand. As far as holding the translator, the positive thing is that it is covered in a matt plastic so that it is not slippery to hold. And since the mechanism is so small (smaller than a cellular phone), it is easy to hold securely. If only I had this while I was teaching English Language Learners for 27 years! All those parent conferences that could have been so much easier for both the parents and myself. Now that I am retired, I am a Master Gardener and find myself volunteering and working with people that are Korean, Russian, Armenian, Japanese, Chinese, Spanish, Italian, and the list goes on and on! Of course I had tried using different translating apps but they fell short in so many ways! Yet, all of those languages I listed are part of the 17 languages that you don’t need WiFi for (must download language needed beforehand) except Armenian in this translator. However, Armenians can understand Arabic to a certain degree so this AI Translator is still effective even when my WiFi is not working which is a common experience in the mountainous region I live in. For traveling, talk about useful! With this device’s built in camera, you are able to translate menus, train signs, street signs, etc…. How convenient and what a feeling of safety! No more feeling lost in a new place or ordering something that turns out to be the wrong item. And with the currency exchange function, you can feel much more in charge and knowledgeable about the money you are spending. This saves a lot of time and effort. The charge lasts for 8 hours of consistent use and 7 days on standby. I love that it is so easy to learn and use. You can see that simply by looking at the product photos but to feel it in your hands working as it should is a little dream come true. No more huge breaks in conversations due to typing. From having so much experience not having something like this available, I truly appreciate it now.+++++

This is a great product, my 57-year-old stepmother came to US from China to visit our kids. she can’t speak english. with this product she can go outsider nearby to take a walk as what she does in China by herself. The transitions are clear, quick , and accurate. we are very satisfied with it.

I live in Japan. I don't speak or read the language. While the Japanese are very gracious and tolerant, I am limited in certain situations because I can't communicate. I had been looking for a SIMPLE easy to operate translator that would work off-line without wi-fi. The product reflects quality and is very simple to use. I already tried it out with my Japanese waitress (who also spoke English) and she was very impressed. However, by fiddling with it for a while I figured out the features. Once again the quality and ease of operations is great,so I highly recommend this for those who need to carry a translator. I do not have that problem with this translator.

I'd tried a half-dozen prior, all kinds of problems, e.g., manufacturer insisted nothing was wrong with two ... when I spoke English, the error message was "You're not speaking Spanish." (same message when I spoke Spanish) I was skeptical of this unit, my last try before leaving. I was way away from a wifi, relying solely on 'off-line'. I was in an area where one in 100 spoke a bit of English, this unit worked. Speak slowly, distinctly, it had an amazing accuracy for off-line.
